About The Author Louise

Find out a little bit more about the author Louise Walden-Edwards and her motivation for creating her book "The Ice Dream Sundays".

Meet Louise Walden-Edwards, the driving force behind "The Ice Dream Sundays". Her journey is a testament to passion, resilience, and a commitment to inclusivity in sport. As an author, Louise brings a unique perspective shaped by her own experiences and a desire to inspire others.

Louise Walden-Edwards is a former British & International Ice Dance Champion, European & World Championship competitor and Team GB member. After years as a competitor and international performer, Louise is now working in many areas of sport with an inspired passion for inclusivity.

Having started ice skating late at age 11, Louise was perceived by some as too old to go far. She continually battled against individuals’ perceptions, illness, injury and personal setbacks, to beat the odds. Living with and hiding her own additional needs of Dyslexia and Irlen Syndrome, her passion is fuelled to demonstrate that “differences” can be our superpowers and don’t need to hold us back.

Louise’s relentless belief in hard work and positivity whilst treating everyone with compassion and kindness, has seen her become sought after as a multi-award winning Sports Coach, a Skating Expert, a TV Sports Commentator and Panellist. She is also the founder of VO:ICE Fitness & Wellbeing Academy, an online inclusive platform which is supporting both skaters and non-skaters alike worldwide, to be the best they can be and “Shout Your True Potential”.

In her first children’s book “The Ice Dream Sundays”, Louise explores how sport can bring people together from diverse backgrounds regardless of their differences, united under a shared passion for growth, improvement and in this case, the ice.
